Rishine is a relatively new kingdom that is experiencing rapid change in most aspects of its society. It is a classic monarchy ruled by King Fosir Aldishon. The kingdom is becoming more of a merchant economy rather than the feudal system that has been in place for hundreds of years. The powerful merchants are now looking to expand their trade outside the kingdom. This is difficult because Rishine is surrounded by the ….. forest on the west, mountains on the north and east, and hills and swamp to the south.
Most of the cities of Rishine are growing quickly due to the rising power of the merchants. This is particularly true of Ruomol, Hisk, and the capital, Haladin. The towns of Forstidge and Fulon are also growing quickly because of their location on trade routes to foreign lands. Choston and Trolt are not growing at the same rate as the others. Choston is trying, with great difficulty, to resist change and hold to the old ways. Trolt is on a particularly embattled border (to the south). The city is basically one large fort.
